The One Easy Resolution I’m Sticking With: Vitamins

April 10, 2016

I didn’t make a ton of resolutions at the start of 2016 because we were in the middle of buying a house and moving (although, when you are about to make the biggest purchase of your life, I couldn’t help but make financial resolutions). But once February was underway and we were moved in, I have been trying to make little improvements for my overall health.

One of the easiest resolutions that I’ve stuck with is taking my vitamins. I headed to Walmart to pick up some vitamins and ended up choosing the brand Nature Made because its a brand that my family has used for years, and is the nation’s #1 best-selling brand for quality vitamins, minerals and supplements to help support nutritional gaps*.

Walmart was a great spot for me to pick up Nature Made vitamins because there was a huge selection at an everyday low price. And you know how much I love a bargain!

I picked up two types of vitamins. Last year at my annual physical, I learned that I was vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D is synthesized by the skin when we’re exposed to sunlight during certain times of the day and year. Since I’m in an office all day, it’s no surprise this is one of those nutrients I just wasn’t getting – and this is an important one, as it supports bone, teeth, muscle and immune health.

I was confident about the purchase I made because I noticed on the bottle that Nature Made is #1 pharmacist recommended**. If I’m going to be taking a vitamin, I want to make sure I’m taking the right kind. On the bottle, I noticed this vitamin D was special – it was vitamin D3, which is the body’s preferred form of vitamin D,

In addition to picking up vitamin D3, I snagged some vitamin C. I was really sick earlier this year, and my doctor was worried I may have another pneumonia relapse. She advised that I take vitamin C daily to help support my immune system.

To get into the routine of taking my vitamins, I’ve left them out by the counter, next to the coffee maker. Every day, I see them there, and I end up taking them. In the past, I’ve tried a pill box, leaving them in my desk at work, etc. but never stuck to it. Now, just because they are out on the counter, I see them and take them. It’s simple!

I’m ready to tackle my next health improvement. I’ve started subscribing to Nature Made’s Daily Boost newsletter, which shares inspirational tips every other week.  I think my next project may be to finally start drinking more water – I try every few weeks to make this a priority, but end up failing. But now that I’ve conquered vitamins, a habit I couldn’t keep for the longest time, maybe I can finally nail this!

If you want to give Nature Made vitamins a try, I highly recommend them. Plus, we’ll make it easy to get you started with a $50 gift card to Walmart, thanks to Influence Central. Twenty folks will win – just choose a social media share option below.
