What I Received in My November Ipsy Bag

What I Received in My November Ipsy Bag - TriedGuide.com

I love getting mail. While I haven’t signed up for a ton of subscription services, the one service I have signed up for is Ipsy. Ipsy is $10 a month, and every month you receive 5 deluxe beauty samples. In order to know what samples are best for you, you fill out a survey when joining and rank the beauty products that you receive.

I’ve been a member since March. Ipsy has certainly introduced me to some of my favorite products I cannot live without – and I even wore a lipstick I received on my wedding day. I like Ipsy because for a few bucks I get to try some new products every month without scouring through the drugstore aisles, and it’s nice to change up my makeup routine every now and then.

Here’s what I received in my November Bag:

Inspr Eye Shadow in Carnival: My latest look has been a shimmering copper eye shadow and brown eye liner. This color is a darker champagne color and I think it will be a nice alternative to the copper. It’s a little lighter, but would be a good base for an eye liner. Side note: I’ve recently rediscovered eyeliner because I had a bit of an incident with an eye lash curler. I accidentally pulled out a clump of lashes, so eyeliner has been my way of hiding a missing chunk of lashes. Ouch!

Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer: Because of Ipsy, I rediscovered my love of bronzer this summer. As we head into the winter, I’m looking forward to giving a luminizer a try. This particular product smelled like coconut – I loved the smell While it was a bit more glittery than I would like (the correct term is mica pigments), it’s perfect for a night out.

Smashbox Cosmetics Full Exposure Mascara: Read above: I have had an eye lash incident. I was so excited to receive a mascara, especially this one from Smashbox as it promises 104% increase in lash volume and 32% increase in lash length.

Novex Haircare Brazilian Keratin Deep Conditioning Treatment: According to Ipsy, this product is an enhanced treatment to restore smoothness and deep repair all types of hair. Perfect, just what my frizzy hair needs. Unfortunately, I am not entirely sure how to use it – the label says I need to apply it to slightly dry hair – does that mean hair that was wet, almost dry, and then apply this and rinse out? Or can it be dry hair? Wish I had a little bit more clarity on this, but will be giving it a try this week, especially with the heat blasting in my apartment and it being pretty dry.

tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon: I received this in Chili Red which is perfect for me – I’m a red lipstick kinda gal. I loved the color, loved how easy it was to put on – but if you are going to eat a meal with this crayon on, the color will not last. I know that many lip colors don’t last through a meal, but my beloved NARS lipstick in Heat Wave gives me coverage all day, through meals, drinks and snacks. I’m lazy and forget to reapply, so I need all-day coverage.

I received the Brazilian Keratin once and it went right in the trash. It didn’t seem worth the effort to figure out… I’m lazy like that. 😉
