I rarely buy movies but there’s one movie I’ve purchased in the last few years that I can watch over and over again: Pitch Perfect. And yes, I’m nerdy enough that I go as far as listening to the soundtrack.
Pitch Perfect reignited my love for a cappella, and last year, my friend Dave and I even went to see some of the cast members of Pitch Perfect perform at Carnegie Hall, in a show called Total Vocal. It was a fantastic time, with some of the best high schoolers performing, as well as some of the best a cappella groups from around the world. Songs from Pitch Perfect were performed too. It was a show that made me want to get on my feet – and also sadly made me realize I have absolutely no special talents and was insanely jealous of all these performers.
If you loved Pitch Perfect and find yourself listening to the music while at work (no judgement here), you are in luck – Total Vocal is back! Held on Sunday, March 20, at 2pm at Carnegie Hall, the second annual show will include music and cast members from Pitch Perfect. Performing at Total Vocal are Barden Bellas Chrissie Fit, and beatboxer Andrew “80Fitz” Fitzpatrick, the mega popular a cappella group The Filharmonic from NBC’s The Sing Off, as well as Stay Tuned and Highlands Voices from the hit Lifetime show Pitch Slapped! This exciting, upbeat whirlwind performance will include music from The Beatles, Adele, John Legend and many more. If I didn’t have to be in Boston that weekend, I would TOTALLY be buying tickets right now.
Last year, tickets sold out so you’ll want to buy yours here. Tickets range from $20 – $100, and I had probably the cheapest seats in the house, and it still was a good time.
Or if you are on the fence about going, you can try to win them Tried Guide! Simply fill out the entry form below. Good luck!
